The construction of the Hunan Concord College of Sino-Canada (HCCSC) laid its foundation in Changsha Pioneering District on the west bank of Xiangjiang River on the morning of Dec.4.
Boasting 14 years' schooling experience, the Sino-Canada Concord College has branch schools in Beijing City, Shenzhen City and Anhui Province. Approved by the Hunan Provincial Education Department on June 25 this year, the Hunan branch is to be jointly established by Hunan University, the Ministry of Education New Brunswick and the RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) International Education Investment Corporation.
It covers an area of 180 mu (12 hectares), with the construction investment estimated to reach 300 million yuan. By next Sept., the school will have been completed and put into operation. As the first Sino-foreign as well as the first international senior high school in Hunan where students can get dual certificates and diplomas from both Chinese and Canadian education authorities, graduates can make an either-or choice between going to Canadian/USA/UK/Australian universities, or taking part in the college entrance examination of China.
