English writer Fuchsia Dunlop, winner of the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the International Dissemination of Xiang (Hunan) Cuisine is receiving interview from the media.
More than 500 disseminators of Xiang (Hunan) Cuisine from all over the world gathered in Changsha on Nov.23 to attend the opening ceremony of the Promotion Week of Xiang Cuisine Industry.
During the week, these cuisine lovers will exchange cooking skills of Xiang Cuisine, appreciate delicious Xiang dishes and seek better development of this cuisine. They jointly released the World Xiang Cuisine (Changsha) Declaration, which officially unveiled the promotion event.
Zhou Qiang, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, sent congratulatory letter to the event. In his letter, Zhou highlighted Xiang Cuisine as the identity of Hunan Province. It is also the vital industry to make the province prosperous and its people better off and serves as an important carrier of Hunanxiang Culture.
In recent years, the Xiang Cuisine industry has seen a boom. It plays a positive role in fueling economic development, improving people's livelihood and promoting the good image of the province.
It is said the event will include some theme activities such as the World Xiang Cuisine Forum, Review on World Xiang Cuisine in the Past Decade and the First Trade Fair of Xiang Cuisine Materials.
