A press conference was convened in Changsha to brief the construction progress of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan intercity railway Changsha section and the situation of traffic control.
The CZT intercity railway Changsha section has been under construction and all related work has also begun in full swing. The raiway of this section is scheduled to put into operation in 2014, as released on Dec.23 by Changsha government.
With a total investment of 22.3 billion yuan, the intercity railway covers an overall length of 95.51 kms, connecting the city cluster of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. It will take almost 48 months to complete the whole project.
Radiating Changsha County and five districts of Changsha, namely, Furong, Yuhua, Tianxin, Kaifu and Yuelu, more than 2,500 mu (about 166.67 hectares) land needs to be requisited for the CZT intercity railway Changsha section. The main projects consist of subgrade, bridges, tunnels and stations with the railway travelling from south to north. And there are 12 railway stations in this section.
During the construction period, Changsha traffic police will roll out tailored traffic control measures according to different road surfaces and surrounding roads of each station. Besides, citizens here are encouraged to take public vehicles and try to reduce the use of private cars.
