Hunan's First Spring Festival Gala for the Elderly Held in Changsha 2011

Hunan's First Spring Festival Gala for the Elderly 2011, hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Health and Hunan Province's Committee Office for Old-Age People, was staged in Hunan Grand Theater on the afternoon of January 20 after a three-month selection of talent shows by and among the old-age people in Hunan.

Deputy Executive Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Health Lin Andi and Director of the Hunan Province's Committee Office for Old-Age People Chen Yihua watched the performances and made important speeches.

The gala aims to echo the "nationwide campaign on promoting healthy lifestyle" initiated by the Ministry of Health and offer care for the old-age people.

The organizers and sponsors also devised a series of supporting activities such as health lectures or volunteer medical consultation in communities conducted by health experts and medical specialists.

Lin Andi and Chen Yihua accepted an exclusive interview by the Hunan Official Web Portal (hereinafter the Portal) after the gala. They highly affirmed the contributions the Portal has made to international exchanges and the spread of traditional Chinese culture.
