Changsha Government Holds Greeting Gathering for Spring Festival

On Jan. 29, Changsha Municipal Government and the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee held a greeting gathering to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival. Chen Run'er, member of the Standing Committee of People's Congress of Hunan Province and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and other provincial and municipal leaders enjoyed a happy get-together with almost 400 representatives from all sectors, ushering in the first New Year of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.

Xie Jianhui, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor presided over this gathering.

At 10 o'clock,the get-together began with cheerful music. Secretary Chen extended new-year greetings and best wishes to people of all sectors and friends from both home and abroad who care about and support the construction and development of Changsha.

Secretary Chen remarked that during the past "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, Changsha has witnessed significant growth of economic strength, prominent improvement of rural and urban areas and remarkable development of causes related to people's well-being, resulting from the concerted and tenacious efforts of every part of society.

He hoped that people across the city can arrange future work with the spirit of forging ahead with determination, push the work forward with innovative measures and do work in a more proactive, innovative and pioneering manner, so that our causes will display great vitality through reform and opening up, and make headways with innovation.
