China: Leather trade increased significantly in the first 11 months

The exports of semi-finished leather reported growth of 108.5% to 12,000 tons worth US$2.89 million, up 149.2% in value year on year during the first 11 months.

Imports for the same products saw a growth of 19.8% in volume to 677,000 tons, in value term it up 46.7% over the year earlier.

For the finished leather the exports were 30,000 tons worth US$340 million, up 40.4% and 72.5% respectively; in the import term the growth recorded 20.4% in volume to 198,000 tons and 26.9% in value to US$2.41 billion for the first 11 months.
