The Second International Conference on Advanced Textile Material & Manufacturing Technology was held at ZSTU from Oct. 10-23. Under the auspices of the Zhejiang Department of Science and Technology, the conference was hosted by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and organized jointly by the Key Laboratory of Advanced Textile Materials & Manufacturing Technology, Ministry of Education of China, Lab of Fiber Materials and Manufacturing Technology of Zhejiang Province, Engineering Research Center for Eco-Dyeing & Finishing of Textiles, Ministry of Education of China and Textile Engineering Society of Zhejiang Province.
The opening ceremony was launched on the morning of Oct. 21 in the Conference Hall on the second floor of the AdministrativeOfficesBuilding. President Qiu Songliang delivered a welcome speech, extending on behalf of the university the warm welcome to the experts and scholars from home and abroad, the heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Science and Technology, the Textile Engineering Society of Zhejiang Province and other organizations for their support. He concluded his speech with the best wishes to the conference. Professor Frank K. Ko from the University of British Columbia, Canada made a speech representing over 120 scholars and experts in textile research field from China, the USA, the Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Korea and Iran. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Chen Jianyong.
The conference invited many renowned professors to deliver 10 keynote speeches, including Prof. Frank K. Ko, Prof. Xiaoming Tao, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. Gang Sun, University of California, Prof. Qingqing Ni, Shinshu University of Japan, Prof. Xungai Wang, Deakin University of Australia , Prof. Xiangyang Liu, National University of Singapore, Dr. Jiping Wang, P&G, USA, Prof. You Huh, Kyunghee University of Korea, Prof. Zhengzhong Shao, Fudan University, Prof. Chunye Xu, University of Science and Technology of China. The topics of the speeches cover composite nanofibers, intelligent textile fibers and products, and energy savings via fast drying in textile industry. The conference also organizes 74 poster presentations, 41 oral presentations and graduate forums. A dinner party was held to welcome the guests on the evening of the 21st.
