Sinotrans Tianjin Container Yard Open to Service

Sinotrans opened its Tianjin Container Yard to public service on April 26, with a grand ceremony held that day for celebration. Over 200 guests from the departments of Tianjin Municipality, the institutes of Tianjin Port and some shipping enterprises took part in the ceremony. Wang Shuzu, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Tianjin City, Miao Gengshu, Chairman of Sinotrans Head Corporation, Zhang Jianwei, Vice President of Sinotrans Head Corporation and President of Sinotrans Limited, Yu Shiping, General Manager of Tianjin Sinotrans Co., Ltd delivered speeches and cut the ribbon for the ceremony.

Tao Suyun, Vice President and Li Jianzhang, Vice Secretary of Party Committee of Sinotrans Head Corporation, also attended the opening ceremony.

Wang Shuzu gave Sinotrans his sincere congratulations on behalf of the People's Congress of Tianjin City. He pointed out that activation of the big container yard is significant not only for Sinotrans's long-term development but also for promoting Tianjin's modern logistics development and its opening of the new seaside district. He hoped that Sinotrans could catch the opportunity to further its various causes in Tianjin and to make greater contributions to the economic prosperity of the city and the district.

Chairman Miao Gengshu said in his speech that Sinotrans has paid close attention to Tianjin's reform and development. As a central city in the Bohai Region, Tianjin is a vital point of connection in all directions and an important channel of opening to the international world, enjoying a critical strategic position, comprehensive advantages and great development potential. Sinotrans, as a state-owned enterprise directly under the control of the State Assets Management Committee, is duty-bound to support the development of its new seaside district. Launch of the container yard is therefore not merely a strategic need of Sinotrans but also a program designed to further push forward the logistics service of the district. Now like before, Sinotrans will actively participate in the economic life of the city and the reform and development of the district, and will eagerly join hands with the people of Tianjin to work together for a more wonderful future!

Before the ceremony, Vice President Zhang Jianwei and Yu Shiping, General Manager of Tianjin Sinotrans Co., Ltd had given an interview with reporters from several media organizations like China Daily and the 21st Century Economic Report etc.

Located at Tianjin Port, Sinotrans's Tianjin Container Yard claims a general investment of RMB 230 million from Sinotrans Limited and Sinotrans Tianjin Co., Ltd, a total operation space of 210,000 m2 and an annual handle ability of above 500,000 TEUs. Its activation indicates that Sinotrans has taken a full vantage point at the new seaside district, a logistics center in Northern China, and is superbly conditioned to continually expand its one-stop logistics services from now on.
