Lishui Municipal Party Committee Secretary Presented Lishui Eco-tourism to Shanghai

Facing the great opportunities brought by the 2010 World Expo to the tourist market, Lishui, as a backyard of Yangtze River Delta, is trying its best to have a bigger market share. During past few days, Chen Ronggao, secretary of Lishui Municipal Party Committee presented Lishui eco-tourism to many travel agencies in Shanghai and to many journalists from various media of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.
In order to receive crowds of tourists from both home and abroad during the 2010 World Expo, 55 elaborate tour routes of "Trip to the World Expo" have been activated in the Yangtze River Delta, one of which is "four-day ecological and cultural tour in Lishui".
Chen Ronggao started his presentation with "Lishui has very good eco-environment. It deserves the fame of "The Top Eco-City in China". He said, Lishui is the first national-level ecological demonstration zone in Zhejiang Province and it is widely known as the "Green Valley in Zhejiang" and a "natural oxygen bar in east China"; both the forest coverage and wood coverage are 20% higher than the average level of the whole province; the eco-environmental quality of Lishui ranks the top in Zhejiang for 6 successive years and is in the front row of the whole nation; negative oxygen ion concentration in various scenic spots is far much higher than international standards; Lishui has its favorable eco-environment.
Chen Ronggao also introduced the long-standing and lustrous "Green Valley culture". He said, "Lishui has profound cultural deposits and the 'cultural epic' has a distant origin and long development." Three treasures of Lishui, Longquan celadon, Longquan swords and Qingtian stone carving, have been listed among the first national-level intangible cultural heritages. The photographic art, Barbizon oil painting, song and dancing of She ethnics and oversea Chinese culture all have unique charms. Many cultural calling cards of Lishui are known national wide, including the Town of Photography in China, the Town of Celadon in China, the Town of Swords in China, the Town of Stone Carving in China, the Town of Wooden Toys in China, the Town of Root Carving Art in China, the Town of Covered Bridges in China, and the Town of Folk Art in China.
Chen Ronggao said: Lishui has plentiful tourist resources and its natural resources rank the first in Zhejiang Province; so far there are 9 four-A scenic areas in Lishui and it is expected that the number of scenic areas will be as many as over 20 in 2012; now Lishui is already an outstanding tourist city and an outstanding eco-tourism city in China, an attractive resort for leisure and refreshment; the tourism of Lishui is developing fast, construction of scenic areas being greatly enhanced and traffic infrastructure being improved to a great extent; with the construction of high-speed rails, Lishui will gradually enter the 3-hour traffic circle around Shanghai; various counties in Lishui City will be connected by highways; besides, a large quantity of star hotels, shopping malls and entertainment facilities will be planned and built to continuously meet the diversified demands of tourists.
