Recently, Yu Jian, deputy secretary-general of provincial government and deputy director of Yangling Demonstration Zone(YDZ), led a delegation to visit Canada and had a deep talk with senior officials from Canadian Agriculture and Agricultural Foodstuffs Division and Fund Committee of Canada International Technology Cooperation on cooperation in the future five years, which yielded positive results.
Yu Jian first affirmed the project cooperation between YDZ and the Department of Agriculture of Canadian government under two governmental technological cooperation frameworks, and introduced YDZ s development within recent five years. Yu Jian said, accelerating the cooperation will be one of Yangling's key work in the next five years. Meanwhile, DYZ will, combining Shaanxi and surrounding agricultural development planning, continue to support the construction of China Canadian modern agriculture demonstration zone, display, and spread Canadian advanced agricultural technology.
Chief scientist Dr. Martel, Canada agriculture and agricultural foodstuffs division, pointed out that China and Canada has had a long tradition of friendly relations. Canada can share a lot of experience with China on its' advanced precision agriculture, ecological agriculture and agricultural management. Canada Agriculture and Foodstuffs Division will continue the cooperation with YDZ on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win situation, displaying dry and semi-dry agricultural science and technology and management experience, support the development of agricultural production in the western region of China. Martel, also agreed to organize relevant personnel to carries out the agricultural cooperation projects as soon as possible.
