Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Framework Agreement signed in Beijing

Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Framework Agreement has been signed by the two governments at the Great Hall of People in Beijing on 6th. Xi Jinping, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice President, was present at the signing ceremony and met with Cui Shi an, Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region, and Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua, and representatives from Guangdong and Macao. Huang and Cui, representing Guangdong and Macao government, signed the agreement.

The agreement consists of 8 chapters and 38 articles, covering areas of economy, society, livelihood, culture and so on. It clarified the identification, principle and purpose of Guangdong-Macao development, and settled cooperation emphasis like co-development of Henqin, cooperated industrial development, infrastructure construction, convenient customs clearance, public service, regional cooperation planning, etc. The agreement also proposed specific, practical and operable cooperation measures and clarified the security mechanism.
