Li Feng Met with Dr Fernando Chui, Chief Executive of Macao SAR

On the afternoon of June 3, Li Feng, Secretary of Municipal Committee, met with Fernando Chui, chief executive of Macao Special Administrative Region, and his delegation, in Shantou Regency Hotel, and had a friendly talk with them. Li Feng said, Macao has reached a very high level in economic and social development and urban construction management, and has a lot of successful experience worth learning from. Strengthening the connection between Shantou and Macao is the common aspiration of the people of both places. Shantou will take Dr. Chui's visit to Shantou as a new starting point, try our best to melt into the reform and development of the Pearl River Delta, melt into the close cooperation between Guangdong and HongKong-Macau Region and melt into the economic region on the west bank of the Taiwan Strait further promote and deepen the exchange and cooperation between the two places, and build up an even better future for the cooperation between Shantou and Macao.
Dr. Fernando Chui felt very glad about the great achievements made by Shantou Special Economic Zone in the recent years. He said, through the visit, he has seen the blueprint of Shantou's future development, and also seen the potentials of Shantou's development. He believed that both parties would make greater efforts in deepening their cooperation on the basis of the past achievements. Especially, through strengthening the construction of the commercial trade service platform, we could improve our business and economy cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries.
