Groundbreaking Ceremony held for Haojiang Bridge

On the morning of July 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Haojiang Bridge, a key project of Shugang Avenue, was held, which marks the commencement of construction for the east section of Shugang Avenue.
Shugang Avenue starts from Anhai Road in the west and reaches Guangda Avenue in the east. Shugang Avenue is 9160m long totally, 60m wide, with 8 lanes. The total investment of the project is RMB 760 million. Connecting to Nanshan Bay Industry Park, the Guangdong-Macau deepwater port and Shantou Free Trade Zone, Shuguang Avenue is not only an important trunk of the Inductrial Ecomonic Belt and the Provincial Demonstration Park for Industry Transfer, but also the key infrastructure project of Shantou. The construction of the west section of Shugang Avenue has commenced in November 2009.The total investement budget of the east section of Shugang Avenue including the Haojiang Bridge, is about RMB 420 million, which is planned to be put into operation in the first half of 2012.
