Dongguan's traffic police will deploy over 2/3 of its force to safeguard the travel peak during the upcoming Spring Festival season, Dongguan Daily reports.

The traffic police will set up five check points around the city to tackle acts which violate traffic rules, especially speeding and long-distance transportation overload. They will check every passing-by bus with more than seven seats for 24 hours.

Chunyun, also referred to as Spring Festival travel season, or Chunyun period, is a period of travel in China with extremely high traffic load around the time of the Chinese New Year. The period usually begins 15 days before the Lunar New Year's Day and lasts for around 40 days.
