The 2010 World Expo attracting international attention has opened in Shanghai. Dongguan, far away in South China, is not absent from the great festival as elements related to Dongguan can be found everywhere in Expo pavilions.
The Beijing Pavilion is the only one pavilion in Shanghai World Expo whose outer appearance can be changed from time to time. Located at the entrance of domestic pavilions, the Beijing Pavilion can transform into the Temple of Heaven, "Nest", "water cube", the National Grand Theatre and other landmarks in Beijing. Actually, the face-changing LED screen controlled by 76 machines is made in Dongguan. It was designed by the Manufacturing Engineering Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Dongguan and installed and tested by Tarm Lasereffect China in Dongguan. "Though it is operating for 14 hours everyday, we guarantee there will be no incident during 6 months." said Zhang Guojun vice president of the Manufacturing Engineering Institute.
