22 overpasses, tunnels to be built downtown

According to Dongguan Construction Project Trading Center, 22 more overpasses will be built in downtown Dongguan in the foreseeable future, Nanfang Daily reported on June 24.

Seven overpasses will be built near the urban railway stations. Diwang Square, Hongfu Road and Guantai Road, Yujing Building, and Global Plaza will enjoy priority in the construction of pedestrian tunnels. The newly-added overpasses and tunnels will be distributed in the downtown schools, business centers and near railway stations. Several overpasses and tunnels will be constructed on main roads such as Dongguan Avenue, Guantai Road, Dongchen Dong Road and Guansui Road.

The pedestrian overpasses at Guanchang Road and Xueyuan Road will be the first to start construction on July 13th. The construction is scheduled to take three and half a month and shall be formally completed by November. The overpass at Guangchang Road will be a double-span one crossing Guanchang Road and Guangming Road while that at Xueyuan Road will be a single-span one of 26.4 meters. The construction of these overpasses is budgeted to cost more than 8 million yuan.
