A yoga club boss in Nancheng district disappeared on June 11, with membership fees in excess of 200 000 yuan, as Dongguan Times reports Tuesday.
The Yoga club is located on the 6th floor of Manhattan Plaza in Nancheng District. As Mr. Li, a yoga teacher in the club told reporters, the boss has not paid salaries since April and disappeared on June 11. It was not until the estates management office announced that they would suspend water and electricity supply for the club as it was in arrears with respect to paying the rental and management fees that the teachers and other staff began to suspect the disappearance of their boss.
"Since the opening of the club, more than 200 members have paid membership fees of over 200 000 yuan. By now, more than 80% of the members' fees have not been used," said Li.
Now the teachers and some members have received help from government departments such as the police and the city's human resources department. Meanwhile, the staff in the club must begin looking for new jobs.
