The Strategic Partnership between Tongji University and Aalto University

2010. May.25th, the Cooperation agreement for the establishment of the Sino-Finnish Centre was signed by Prof. Pei Gang, president of Tongji University and Prof. Tuula Terri, president of Aalto University at the opening ceremony of ATDF, which marks the formal establishment the strategic partnership between two universities.

It is the substantial progress since the MOU signed in January, 2010 by Prof. Wu Jiang with President Tuula Terri, Aalto University in Finland on the 1st official opening day for Aalto University, which is the resulting institution of the merger of the Helsinki School of Economics, the University of Art and Design Helsinki and the Helsinki University of Technology in Helsinki, Finland.

Afterwards, numbers of university representatives from Aalto was sent by Prof. Teeri to visit Tongji for the preparation works for ATDF and International Design Business Management (IDBM) double master degree programme with Tongji University leaders and professors in the fields of design, management, IT, traffic & transportation, mechanical engineering.

What s more, the university leaders and professors from both sides attended top research through multidisciplinary and innovative cooperation held at Finnish Pavilion in Shanghai World Expo and Rector s Summit held by Shanghai Nordic Centre.
