On the morning of September 11, 2009, Vice Minister of Education, Chen Xi, deputy secretary of the Party Group came to visit our school and listened to the reports of school work, and also he made an important speech. Chen Xi was accompanied by Director of College Student Division of Education Wang Jianguo, Deputy Director of College Work Division directly under the Ministry of Education Jia Deyong, and Deputy Director of the Degree Office of the State Council Li Jun.
The reporting meeting was held in the International Exchange Center, Conference Room 405. All the school leadership, the deans and party branch secretaries of all the departments attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by the party committee secretary of CUC Li Pei-yuan.
President Su Zhiwu on behalf of the university made a work report to Vice Minister Chen Xi. Mr. Su gave a detailed report on our schools school location, goals, ideas and recent work ideas, and related issues for promoting the development of school science that needed to be addressed, on the basis of the results achieved in undergraduate teaching level evaluation, party building and ideological and political work in compliance inspections and studying and practicing the scientific concept of development activities.

To meet the requirements of top domestic and international universities, he put forward clear demands for CUC s future development.
First, as a higher institution of media industrys characteristics, we must keep a clear head, work in accordance with education law. In the educational process, we need always maintain our own characteristics, and strive for "limited resources, limited objectives," to make the school development more in line with the school practice and social needs.
Second, we must attach importance to the development of our disciplines. While maintaining traditional strengths on the basis of academic leadership, we should continue to develop new advantages of disciplines to make it good and strong. And he endorsed our university s developing two new subjects of new media and cultural industry combining with our own disciplinary strengths.
Third, we should do a good job of personnel training position, strengthen the construction of professional masters degree, cultivate high application-oriented talents; actively explore the Masters training model to ensure the quality of training and play a leading role in the same profession in other colleges and universities.
Fourth, we must guarantee the students training quality, make more efforts in enrollment, training process and employment, attract excellent high school graduates to study here; attach importance to nurturing process to improve the overall quality of students; guide graduates into the employment, to enhance the influence of graduates in their major-related industry.
Chen Xi, vice minister stressed that the Communication University of China after 50 years of development, has formed a distinctive mode of media feature, establishing the development goal of the worlds leading high level media university. Under the guidance of scientific concept of development, through unremitting efforts, the school could be able to achieve the established development goal.
In his speech, Li Pei-yuan, secretary briefly report the conduction of studying and practicing the scientific concept of development activities and the results achieved in them. He said that we should seriously study the gist in the speech of Vice Minister Chen Xi, and apply it to practice to promote the schools scientific development.
