| On Oct. 31, the opening ceremony of the Third World Fisheries Congress was solemnly held at Beijing international conference center. Liu Chengguo, vice minister of agriculture ministry, Yang Jian, director general of national fisheries bureau, Arney Martinson, minister of Iceland fisheries and representatives from the world aquiculture academy, Asian aquiculture academy and American aquiculture academy etc. attended the ceremony. As a distinguished guest, Liu Hanyuan, president of Tongwei Enterprise Group, seated on the rostrum. This congress was sponsored by China aquiculture academy. Around the theme sustainable fisheries in 21th century , many problems were discussed, such as management, research, dynamic market, environmental problem of fisheries and so on, to call on people's attention on the future fisheries. This congress was a grand international meeting held at the turning of the century, which would undoubtedly work as a window for friends all over the world to know China fisheries and as a bridge to connect domestic & foreign fishery enterprises to trade cooperating, investing & negotiating. Before the ceremony, president Liu met with several leaders and experts like Zhou Yingqi, president of Shanghai aquatic university etc. He talked with Liu Shenli, general manager & chairman of the board of directors of China Aquiculture (Group), who is also a distinguished guest of the congress. As respective representitives of state business & private business, the two Groups can cooperate in many fields. Both of them hoped to enhance their cooperation and communication in the future. After the ceremony, series special symposiums will be held and aquatic experts from the Group will attend them. As one of the main sponsors, Tongwei Group took part in all sides of the congress.
