Sep. 16-29, Liu Hanyuan, President of Tongwei, followed an investigation group to visit America. The group was led by Feng Kegang, the vice chairman of the central committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association and it consisted of famous people of economic circle.
The ten-person investigation group visited Los Angeles, Washington D.C., New York, San Francisco and so on. During the investigation, the group was warmly welcomed by overseas Chinese in the places mentioned and had heart-to-heart talk with them. They called on Chinese Embassy in America and consulate-general in the places they visited. They also held talks with officials of US-China National Trade Commission and American Chamber of Commerce. In addition to this, the investigation group visited San Diego port, Head Office of Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation in America, mint, Colombia University, Head office of Yahoo and Intel.
At the important moment before PNTR will get through and China will enter WTO, the investigation made by famous Chinese people of economic circle is of great significance.
