At 9:00am on Aug.19, Dale Mcniel visited Tongwei with Ke Bosi, the cultural consul of American consulate-general in Chengdu, Lin Liping, the business assistant and Shen Kai, the cultural assistant as his companions. Mr. Mcniel has been senior counselor of American Agriculture Department and an expert on agricultural trade, who provides counsel for American government and congress on agriculture and agricultural trade for a long time. Now he works as an experienced lawyer in a counsel company in Washington.
On the day before Dale Mcniel's visit, Liu Hanyuan, president of Tongwei Enterprise Group, was invited to meet with Brain Woo, the consul-general of American consulate-general in Chengdu, at Minshan Hotel. The two sides had a discussion about the possible cooperation between some large enterprises of America and Sichuan after China's entering WTO. Yang Chonghui, the vice secretary and vice governor of Sichuan, and leaders from Sichuan foreign economy and trade commission, Sichuan foreign affairs office, also took part in the meeting.
On Aug. 19, American expert Dale Mcniel and his party visited the head office of Tongwei Enterprise Group. They watched the special film describing Tongwei Enterprise Group and visited the honorable reputation house and working areas of Tongwei together with president Liu Hanyan.
The talk held between the host and the guests was very warm and happy. President Liu Hanyan first gave warm greeting to the visitors. Then he introduced the development, extension, production, management, scientific research and market of Tongwei Enterprise Group. President Liu hoped that the communication and cooperation with American enterprises would be enhanced. Dale Mcniel said that Tongwei had given him a deep impression and it was really great to make such achievement within a short time. He continued to introduce something about America, such as export subsidy, export channels and favorable policies. The two sides both agreed that the cooperation on agriculture and agricultural trade between China and America is very promising. They hoped that this meeting would work as a turning point and a wider communication would be built up between the two sides. Wang Gongrong, the vice president of Tongwei, Hu Rongzhu, head of CI committee, Xiang Chuan, head of office and You Zequan, head of international department, also attended the talk.
The talk was ended at 10:00 am, the two sides had a group photo to mark the occasion.
With China's entering WTO, more and more Chinese enterprise will join the world, at the same time America, west Europe and the world are eager to know further about China, about Sichuan and about Tongwei. We will welcome the world warmly with our open arms.
