Yesterday, Mayor Li Wancai met with Andreas Kramvis, president & CEO of Honeywell Specialty Materials of the U.S., and his delegation at the New World Hotel Dalian. The two sides exchanged ideas about Honeywell s investment and development in Dalian.
With headquarters located in Morristown, New Jersey, Honeywell Specialty Materials is globally a leading company supplying specialty materials: fluorine products, specialty films, additives, high-strength fibers, specialty polymers, intermediates, high-purity chemicals,electronic materials andoil refining technologies and materials. They have signed an agreement of intent for a joint venture with a Dalian company to invest in a petrochemical construction project in the Changxing Island Harbor Industrial Zone.
At the meeting, Li Wancai said that Dalian is China s largest oil refining base, with a strong and abundant industrial foundation. With the new opportunity provided by the plan of opening and developing the Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone approved into the national strategy, Dalian is taking advantage of the sea, the port and its great scientific research strength to improve and extend the petrochemical industrial chain and to enlarge the scale of industry. The Municipal Government and relevant government departments will provide quality services to make the project successful in order to attract more high-end petrochemical enterprises to Changxing Island and, together with them, to build Changxing Island a world-class petrochemical industrial base.
