The first Population and CulturePark opens to the public.
November 16, Yu Zi, director of Dalian Municipal Population and Family Planning Commission, and Yang Guangzhi, governor of Xigang District, unveiled a plaque for Shikui Population and CulturePark. Tan Shuping presided over the ceremony. More than 100 leaders from relevant bureaus and departments, persons in charge and citizens from the neighborhoods attended the ceremony. This is one of the tangible things the Xigang District Government planned to do for the people in 2010, and is an important measure to carry out the Plan for Promoting Family Health, as well as an innovative project for population and family planning. With an investment of 1.1 million yuan, the park covers nearly 20,000 square meters, highlighting modern ideas of population culture and the harmonious development of people and family, people and society, and people and nature with a theme of harmonious family culture displayed through a combination of art works and natural landscape designs. In the park, people will enjoy the charm of and be subtly influenced by popular culture at leisure. The park is a new population cultural base with education, entertainment, and green ecology in one entity.
