On the evening of January 7, at the moment of the Chinese Lunar New Year s coming, Jinzhou New Area hosted a reception for domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. About 300 leaders from the Jinzhou New Area CCP Affairs Work Committee, the Administrative Committee and Jinzhou District NPC and CPPCC, persons-in-charge from relevant departments and domestic & foreign entrepreneurs gathered together at the Inn Fine Hotel for the future, friendship and the Spring Festival.
In the past year, both domestic & foreign entrepreneurs in Jinzhou New Area plunged into the development of the New Area with a sense of being masters, through rapid development of enterprises and active performance of tax payment obligations, making outstanding contributions to the New Area. On behalf of the Jinzhou New Area CCP Affairs Work Committee, Zhang Shikun, director of the Administrative Committee, extended his greetings to the entrepreneurs and through them to their families, and expressed his sincere thanks for their contributions to the New Area s economic and social development, wishing them new achievements.
Akira Sugawara, president and general manager of Canon (Dalian) Co. Ltd., and Xiao Yu, general manager of DE hao Optoelectronics Technology Co. Ltd., made speeches on behalf of all the entrepreneurs present, and expressed their love for the New Area and their gratitude toward the Administrative Committee and relevant departments for their long-standing care and assistance. Akira Sugawara said that because of the adverse effect of the international financial crisis, sales and profits of Canon (Dalian) unprecedentedly declined in 2009, whereas with the great support of the Administrative Committee and relevant departments, they emerged from difficulties successfully in 2010, with their production reaching the highest level of their history. The establishment of Jinzhou New Area has brought foreign-funded enterprises many benefits for their expansion of opportunities and of reliable talent teams. Together with other foreign-funded enterprises in the New Area, Canon (Dalian) will make efforts to bring in more sophisticated production and manufacturing technologies for common development with the regional community.Xiao Yu said that DE hao Optoelectronics Technology Co. Ltd. is a leading enterprise in the domestic field of LED chips. They invested and built the plant here because of the advantages of location, industrial foundation and investment environment. Last year, the whole process of the project: site selection, launching ceremony, startup of the construction and the capping of the plant, got full support and assistance from the Administrative Committee and relevant departments. Looking ahead, 10 major industries and 10 parks in the New Area will provide enterprises more space and a larger stage for their development. We will quicken our pace to make the New Area the most important comprehensive industrial base of De hao, and give our hand to pushing forward strategic emerging industries.
Zhang Shikun said that looking back to last year, the New Area gained remarkable achievements: our GDP, investment in fixed assets, the actual utilization of foreign capital, general budgetrevenues and total imports & exports were an importantcomponent of the entire city. We may owe all this to the outstanding contributions of entrepreneurs present.
Enterprises are either backbones, Zhong went on, or an important driving force of social development. The region cannot develop so fast without the development of enterprises and the efforts of entrepreneurs. We will continue to uphold the key ideas of the regional culture: care for enterprises, respect for entrepreneurs, esteem for taxpayers and encouraging innovations, tolerating failures, advocating successes , creating the best development environment for enterprises. He expects that more and more enterprises will develop faster and stronger in the New Area, and believes that there will be more excellent enterprises and entrepreneurs in future. Jinzhou New Area is willing to work together with them for a better future.
Zhang said that the New Area will shoulder great responsibility and a heavy burden in Dalian s future development. While looking ahead, we are full of confidence. 2011 is the starting year for the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan, then we will spare no efforts to promote the advanced industrial system with high-tech industry as a leader, the high-endmanufacturing industry a pillar and the modern serviceindustry a backup; try hard to establish hundred-billion yuan industrial clusters including petrochemical,high-endmanufacturing and electronic information; promote emerging industries such as semiconductor chips, automobiles and spare parts, LED, biological medicine, environmental protection, new materials and aviation; improve modern industries such as tourism,software & serviceoutsourcing and a headquarters economy; and establish 10 functional parks to provide new vehicles and platforms for various kind of investors. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, we will build the New Area to be first-class domestically and renowned internationally, with wider opening-up, strong core competitiveness, rapid innovated development, an excellent eco-environment and good economic and social efficiency.
