From Sept. 7-9, a two-man delegation led by Professor Hong Zenyao, project leader of the International Exchange Progamme of the School of Business, Ateneo De Manila University visited YUFE on invitation. During their visit, entrusted by Vice President Wang Libin, Li Dingxin, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and Guo Sizhi, Director of the post-graduates section had a meeting with the distinguished guests concerning the cooperation in post-graduate education between the two universities. The two sides decided to jointly foster post-graduate management study in the mode of one-year exchange programs. Also, the two universities will cooperate in offering managerial coursework for post-graduates. After the meeting, the sides signed a cooperative agreement, signifying a significant progress made in post-graduate internationalization.
In recent years, with increasingly more attention paid to university internationalization, international cooperation and exchange has improved in breadth and depth. The number of exchange students who travel to foreign universities has increased each year. However, the exchange is limited only to undergraduates; post-graduates are not entitled to exchange. Thus the cooperation with Ateneo De Manila University has a pioneering significance. Not only will it help to blaze a new path for the internationalization of post-graduate study, it will also play a positive role in improving teacher qualification and course development.
In addition, the research capabilities of post-graduates, an important part of the academic power of our university, has been further strengthened through the joint fostering programme with high-level universities abroad thus improving the academic capability of our university as a whole. Based on the programme,
YUFE will continue to strengthen exchange and cooperation with foreign universities at the post-graduate level. It will continue to unremittingly open up new dimensions in university internationalization and promote the further development of university internationalization.
Founded in 1859, Ateneo De Manila University is the best university of business in the Philippines, ranking 72nd in the Asia-Pacific region in 2000 and 254th in the world in 2008.
