On October 14, a delegation from Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, New Zealand, visited Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. Vice President Yin Hong met the delegation. After the discussion, the two sides signed a memorandum for cooperation.

During the meeting, Vice President Yin Hong introduced basic information about our university and the current situation of international cooperation and exchange at our university. The two sides exchanged their opinions on the issues such as student exchange, scholars' visits and cooperative scientific research. Vice President Yin also extended a warm invitation to the leaders of Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology to attend the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. The heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Foreign Languages also attended the conference.

With a history of more than one hundred years, the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary institutions and is the largest polytechnic institute in the South Island. Each year it enrolls over 5,000 full-time students. The Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology already has cooperative relationships with Southwest Jiaotong University and Wuhan University of Science and Technology in China.
