The 2009 Summer Forum in Ultrasound Therapy Was Successfully Held in CQMU

The 2009 Summer Forum in Ultrasound Therapy was successfully hosted by Chongqing Medical University from 19th to 24th of July 2009. This forum was organized by Chongqing Education Committee, Chongqing Medical University and National Medical Ultrasound Engineering Research Center and sponsored by Ministry of Education and Natural Science Foundation Committee of China.

24 experts in ultrasonic medicine were invited as distinguished guest speakers in the forum, including the experts from Vermont University, Oxford University, The Institute of Cancer Research, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Nanjing University etc. More than 80 doctors and postgraduate students from Catholic University of Korea, Chinese University of Hong Kong, General Hospital of PLA and other well-known universities and hospitals home and abroad attended the forum as delegates. More than 130 students from Chongqing Medical University were also present at the forum.

Various topics were covered at this forum, including the current research on gynecological diseases, the use of focused ultrasound in gynecological disease therapy and the related knowledge in physics and engineering. At the forum, 31 lectures were delivered, three meetings for discussion were held, some student presentations were given and the tour of National Medical Ultrasound Engineering Research Center was organized.

The Summer Forum is a project of the Graduate Education Innovation Plan developed by the Ministry of Education of China which aims to integrate production, teaching and research.
