A delegation of six led by Prof. Liu Xiangxin, SDUST's CPC Secretary, visited four higher learning institutions in North Europe from October 18th to 27th, including the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, University of Helsinki and Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
The delegation visited the campuses, libraries, laboratories there and conducted extensive exchanges and discussions with their counterparts concerning issues like school management, philosophy of schooling, discipline construction, student cultivation, and campus culture construction. Cooperation intentions were probed between SDUST and the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden on student exchange, faculty visits and bilateral co-operations. Upon detailed discussions with functionaries of Norwegian University of Science and Technology, an agreement was signed between the two sides concerning faculty and student exchange, academic exchange, etc.
The delegation was warmly received by the above institutions and got first-hand information about the past, present and experience of higher education in North Europe; Prof. Liu Xiangxin and the group also briefed the hosts recent developments of China's higher education and latest achievements attained by SDUST.
