Pu Yuzhong Visits CNCP Urumqi Petrochemical

A team of seven school leaders led by Pu Yuzhong, the President of CZU visited CNCP Urumqi Petrochemical on November 14, 2010. They received a warm welcome from Liu Jiyuan, the Party Secretary of Urumqi Petrochemical. On behalf of the company, Liu expressed his congratulations on the renaming of Changzhou University and introduced the development of the company since it foundation in 1971 and also its reform after it became a subordinate of CNCP in 1998.

Pu Yuzhong introduced the 32-year-development of Changzhou University, the process of the naming of the university and the running of the university, and especially the purpose of his visit. He emphasized that the development of CZU relies heavily on a close cooperation with the petrochemical industry. Ding Jianning, the Vice President of CZU introduced the scientific research in CZU and also his impressions of his two visits of Urumqi Petrochemical.

The leaders of Urumqi Petrochemical present at the meeting introduced the production and scientific research at the company. The leaders of School of Petrol Engineering, School of Petrochemical, and School of Mechanics and Engineering shared their teaching, research and cooperation with the petrochemical industry.

Finally, Pu Yuzhong met the alumni of CZU working at Urumqi Petrochemical, and hoped that they could come back to CZU more often.
