CNU & US Xilinx Inc., Build SOPC Joint Laboratory

On Oct. 24, College of Information Engineering of CNU and US Xilinx Inc., world leading semiconductor company listed at Fortune Global 500, signed cooperation agreement to build SOPC Joint Laboratory. According to the agreement, Xilinx will provide cooperation research fund, related technical material and information of latest development tool to CNU; give trainings of FPGA-related professional knowledge, methods of instruction and teaching skill to young lecturers of CNU; offer opportunities attending world and regional Xilinx FPGA design contests to CNU; hold National Education Workers Meeting together; encourage faculty and students to write and publish related textbooks, experimental instructions and academic dissertations, etc. In addition, CNU has donated FPGA software & hardware development system worth 1.2 million RMB to CNU for building high reliable reconfigurable SOC system joint lab.
After over two years construction of SOPC Joint Laboratory, CNU has made rapid progress in high reliable reconfigurable embedded system: we have won one Natural Science Fund Project, Key Project of MOE, Beijing New Star Project on Science & Technology, Technical Development Project of Beijing Education Committee, and Beijing Commercialization of Research Findings Project respectively in scientific research; faculty and students have published 42 academic dissertations as first author in famous domestic and international journals, in which 14 dissertations can be searched by EI.
