A total number of 120 students, both Chinese and overseas, painted porcelains in five classrooms on April 23 as a way to express their best wishes to the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
The event was part of a program organized by College of International Education to help overseas students at CNU to feel the Olympics, feel Beijing, and feel China . The even was also sponsored by the Zuote Porcelain Art Center, a patriotism education ground nominated by the Chaoyang Education Committee.
Overseas students from more than 70 countries worked together with Chinese fine art students to draw wonderful paintings on the plates, which will be produced into chinaware at the Zuote center. An exhibition of the artworks is also scheduled. The plates, in together with others from other schools, will finally be given to the Beijing Olympics Committee in a number of 2008, and the works will be collected by China National Museum.
The program of allowing overseas students to feel Olympics, Beijing and China will also include writing and photography to display their unique reading and the best wishes for the Olympics, Beijing and China.
