Library Kicks Off Olympics English Training Program

The university library kicked off a training program for all its employee of Welcome the Olympics, Learn English, Improve Services on April 17.
The training program on Olympics English and library knowledge were conducted by two librarians who have studied abroad and received master degrees in English literature with excellent command of English. In order to carry out a successful training program, the two teachers had put great efforts in preparing learning materials and schedules to draft dual-language textbooks, which were mainly about Olympic slogans, Olympic logo, Olympic venues, Olympic sports, commonly-used expressions at libraries, phrases and sentences. Library Information Department has produced all the required materials, and in the entire training process, the two trainers used reading, dialogue, translation, homework arrangement to do the training. All trainees learned seriously with keen interest and lively discussions.
The event had promoted the Olympic spirit and helped campus workers to participate actively in university culture, and the program also improved the English skills of librarians considerably to get them prepared for the upcoming Olympics.
