A delegation from the Northern State University paid a friendly visit to CNU from March 16-21. The delegation members include Mrs. Carole Pagones, a member of the South Dakota Board of Regents, Dr. Patrick Schloss, the Northern State University president, and Mr. Charles Jakober, the chairman of Northern State University foundation.
Vice president Gong Huili met with visiting delegation on March 20. The American guests said they are willing to enhance cooperation with CNU, to broaden understanding, and to allow more CNU students to study abroad as a move to promote cultural communication between the two schools and to provide fresh energy into local community.
The Northern State University is one of the five public universities in South Dakota that was named as the No.2 public university in northwestern America by the US News and World Report as well as one of the Top 100 Highest Return Schools in the United States. Its undergraduate programs include literature and sciences, business, education and fine arts, and the school has accepted more than 100 CNU undergraduate students in four batches since it signed a student exchange agreement with CNU and has exempted tuitions for the visiting students.
The visit has deepened and renewed Northern State University leadership s understanding of Chinese history and culture as well as the international operation of CNU, which will definitely promote the development of student-exchange program and the2+2 program.
