Students from South Korea Mokwon University Visit CNU

A 21-member student delegation from South Korea Mokwon University, which was led by the Normal College s Mathematics Department director Han Zhenkui, visited CNU on May 13.
Teachers and students from the two sides had a discussion, at which Han introduced the basics of mathematics department in Mokwon University. According to him, the 3 +1 training model was popular among students, and many students have the chance to spend a year abroad during the under-graduate course. He said he wished and he would encourage his students to study at CNU. Vice Dean Xu Deju welcomed the visiting teachers and students on behalf of the College of Mathematical Sciences and gave a brief introduction of the College. Xu hoped that the current 3+1 model can be upgraded into a 2+2 model to benefit more students.
The delegation also visited CNU campus accompanied by mathematical department teachers and students, and they highly recommended the teaching facility, the education infrastructure, the campus environment and the student quality. They also expressed the wish to come back soon.
South Korea Mokwon University was established in 1954, the same year as CNU. The two universities have carried frequent exchanges since 2005 and have organized 15 rounds of visits and exchanges at various levels. The existing cooperation and exchanges are mainly in dance, music, fine arts and foreign language, but the visiting of the mathematics teachers and students from Mokwon University has paved the way for natural science cooperation between the two universities.
