The Opening Ceremony of Chinese Opera Research Center Held in Our University

On September 25, the opening ceremony of Chinese Opera Research Center jointly built by Capital Normal University and Chinese Opera Institute was held in our university and the ceremony was presided over by the Party Secretary Zhang Xue.
President Liu Xincheng introduced the basic situation of discipline construction of our university, elaborated our solid foundation and traditional strengths of opera, and also expected that the establishment of the Research Center will change the situation of division between academic and practical style through establishing a teaching and research base integrated with literature and stage opera research mainly on Peking Opera and Kunqu.
President Du Changsheng of Chinese Opera Institute stressed that the establishment of the Research Center is important for more professional opera theoretical research, discipline construction and construction of teachers team and announced the list of the academic committee of the Center.
Mr. Luo Fuhe, Vice-Chairman of CPPCC congratulated to the establishment of the Research Center on behalf of CPPCC Chairman Jia Qinglin and he also expected that the two universities play their advantages for the development of Chinese drama.
Zhang Yanjin, director of the Research Center said in his speech that the Research Center will pay attention not only to the research on documentations but also to the character of Chinese opera stage and it will also strive to make fully use of the complementary advantages of the two universities so that the Research Center can better serve the contemporary culture construction.
Wang Minzhong, Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Commission of Education said in his speech that the establishment of the Research Center will be helpful to promoting the development of national culture and he also expected that the Research Center will focus on providing relevant service to the capital city and built regional characteristic culture.
