"Touching SCUT" 2010 Awarding ceremony held

On the evening of June 17, the awarding ceremony of 2010 "Touching SCUT" was held in international conference hall of Liwu Building of Science and Technology. Vice-president of SCUT ZHANG Zhen-gang, dean of Working Committee of Care of the Next Generation ZENG Huidian, principals of some apartments and relevant schools and representatives of China Merchants Property Development Co. LTD (CMPD) attended the ceremony and issued awards to students and teams who won the prize. Nearly 600 students attended the ceremony.

It was known that after months of comparison and election, which includes voting on the internet, candidates displaying, and judges reviewing, the host Youth League Committee (YLC) selected 10 as the winners of "Touching SCUT" 2010 from 42 candidates and issued awards to them. The survey team of "migrant workers" in SCUT, JIN Xin from innovative class of biology, Fresh Association of Environmental Protection, and the design team of the China Pavilion were on the list.

The principal of YLC in SCUT said: "As representatives of outstanding students, the 10 winners are, maybe, not the best, but they possess the qualities which belong to people in SCUT; perhaps what they have done is quite common, but each of them has really moved us."
