OIEC of HNU Shows the Warmest Solicitude for Japanese Students

The biggest earthquake in 140 years struck the northeast coast of Japan on last Friday with a 9.0-magnitude. The earthquake and its secondary disasters-tsunami, fire, and nuclear radiation leakage, claimed a huge loss of lives and properties of the people in Japan's northeast coast, and Fukujima, Iwate, Miyagi, Ibaraki were among the earthquake-hit areas.

The moment when the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (OIEC) of HNU get learn the devastating earthquake, officials and teachers took measures promptly, reporting the situation of every Japanese student to the school leaders and reassuring them timely. To help students to gain contact with their relatives as soon as possible, the international phone services in Mulan Apartment are provided freely for Japanese students around the clock. By far, it has been confirmed that two Japanese students from Miyagi and Ibaraki, which are among the most seriously earthquake-hit areas near Sendai, suffer a lot from the loss of their houses and hometowns. Fortunately, all the students close family members are all safe.

Tang Cunzhong, deputy director of the OIEC, on behalf of HunanNormalUniversity, expresses sincere solicitude to the students and the further concern on the disaster, provides necessary help for the students in their studies and life, and encourages them to be strong and optimistic.
