Professor Xiang Yuqiao the first Fulbrighter of HNU

Recently, the selection working of 2011-2012 Sino-U.S. Fulbright Program research scholars had been completed. After a joint interview from Chinese and American experts, Xiang Yuqiao, member of the Research Institute of Ethics in College of Public Administration, was successfully elected. Professor Xiang is by far the first Fulbrighter of HunanNormalUniversity. And in China there are only 40 grants from Sino-U.S. Fulbright Program this time.

Related information : Sino-U.S. Fulbright Program is one of the significant education exchange programs between China and America, which is in the charge of the Department of Education of China and the United States Department of State ,and jointly implemented by China Scholarship Council and American Embassy in China. Sino-U.S. Fulbright Program sends Chinese scholars to further their studies in the United States as well as offers chances for American scholars to teach in China every year. The program plays an active role in such aspects as the talents training, the construction of teaching staff and subject in higher education institutions of China. Currently, the sending number of the Chinese scholars and postgraduates of Sino-U.S. Fulbright Program is limited to 60 every year. And the selected participants are sent as government-sponsored person. China and the United States contribute jointly to the funding of this Program.
