Liu Xiangrong meets the President from Hong Kong Institute of Education

On March 3rd, the president of Hong Kong Institute of Education, Zhang Bingliang led a delegation to HunanNormalUniversity. President Liu Xiangrong met the guests and signed the cooperation agreement with them.

Liu extended a sincere welcome to the Hong Kong delegation and introduced to the distinguished guests the basic developing situation of our university. He also pointed out that our university had a tradition to exchange students with other universities. He hoped that by taking advantage of this opportunity, HNU can enhance friendly cooperation and exchange with Hong Kong Institute of Education in academic and teacher communications in the near future. He said that although our university was endeavoring earn the title of comprehensive university in recent years, yet we still held on to the principle of carrying forward the training of teachers . He hoped that we can strengthen mutual communication and connection so as to facilitate the development on both sides.

Zhang expressed his appreciation for our educational principle before he made introduction of the basic situations of their institute. He also showed a strong desire to establish cooperative relationship with our university, to understand the education in the mainland better, to further enhance our academic and cultural exchange, and to seek development.

Other guests of the delegation included vice president of the Hong Kong Institute of Education and Dean of the Graduate School, Lu Chengjie Director of Office of Mainland development Xu Shenglang and Manager of the office, Hejing.

Chen Jianchu, director of the Postgraduate Office of our university, and Tang Jianwen, director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Affairs, attended the meeting.
