On Sep. 2, the Sino-German Research Center for Science Fund issued a notice to inform that the Sino-German research project adaptive finite element method for fourth-order problem was approved. The project was jointly applied by Professor Huang Yunqing of Xiangtan University and Professor Carstensen of Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin. Gaining a subsidy of 225,240 Yuan and 32,766 euro, it serves as the first project of XTU of its kind to win the fund.
Sino-German Center for Research Promotion was established by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). NSGC and DFG signed a cooperation agreement in 1988 to drive cooperation and exchange between scientists of both countries. In 1995, witnessed by premier of the People s Republic of China and prime minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, the two sides signed an agreement to set up Sino-German Research Center for Science Fund. Sino-German Center for Research Promotion is responsible for application of cooperative research jointly made by scientists from China and Germany, covering cooperative research project, bilateral seminar, and cooperative group as well as subsidizing young scientists and so on.
Since the beginning of this year, 40 projects of National Natural Science Fund of our university have been approved with the fund totaling 14.549 million Yuan.
