Prof Robert Parkin, dean of school of Engineering and Dr. Liu Changqing from Loughborough University of the United Kingdom attended the signing ceremony of MOU on Research Degree between Loughborough University and Huazhong University of Science &Technology HUST on May 27. Prof. Li Zhenbiao, director of academic office of Graduate School hosted the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Prof. Robert Parkin introduced the history, disciplines setting and the situation of academic research at Loughborough University. Dr. Liu Changqing introduced the cooperation situation with Joining & Electronic Packaging Technology Center of College of Materials Science and Engineering, HUST and reviewed the process of drafting the agreement for joint training PhD candidates between the two universities.
Vice-president Shao Xinyu gave an overview of HUST to the guests and hoped that two sides can achieve success in the future cooperation.
After ceremony, Prof. Robert Parkin and Dr. Changqing Liu visited the Wuhan National Lab for Optoelectronics and National Key Lab for Plastic Forming Simulation & Die Technology.
On May 28, Prof. Robert Parkin delivered a lecture, entitled Intelligent Machines in Support of Competitive Sustainable Manufacture in the National Key Lab for Plastic Forming Simulation & Die Technology of HUST.
