Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology released panel review of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor ITER 2010 China special research project. 13 domestic research projects are approved this year, including 3 projects from the universities under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. Two projects, headed by HUST, are "Basic Experimental Research Related to Tokamak" and "Basic Technology Researches Related to Tokamak Equipment", gaining a total research fund of 50 million RMB.
Not long ago, the Ministry of Science and Technology held ITER program workshop 2010. And the concerned specialists, along with the project supervisor from the Financial Office and Office of Science and Technology Development attended the workshop.
It is said that this special project is one of domestic research projects for ITER plan with a total fund of 370 million RMB. This is a 20 percent increase on the previous year, ranking the tip among scientific and technological plans.
