Wen Weiqiu Wins Imagine Cup IT Challenge Top 3 Finalists

According to the Imagine Cup official website, Wen Weiqiu, a member of the Unique Studio, advanced to top three finalists in Imagine Cup IT Challenge. Wen will receive a trip to the Worldwide Finals in Warsaw, Poland this July. The Unique Studio has advanced to Imagine Cup worldwide finals for six consecutive years.

Wen Weiqiu is a student from the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering. He entered the IT Challenge competition in November 2009. After half a year's hard work and series of qualifying rounds, Wen stood out from thousands of competitors, placed first in China region, and finally made it in the top three worldwide finalists. The ranking of the top three will be announced after the worldwide finals in Poland.

IT Challenge focuses on testing competitors' knowledge on network, database and servers as well as analytic and decision making abilities when faced with unique scenarios and diverse customer needs.

In addition to 2010 Imagine Cup, the Unique Studio has entered the top three finalists in the consecutive four years, with Chen Zhifeng placed first in Seoul, Korea in 2007, Liu Yan placed third in Paris, France in 2008 and Wu Chang second in Cairo, Egypt in 2009.

Now in its eighth year, the Imagine Cup has grown to be a world premier students technology competition. More than 300,000 students from over 100 countries and regions registered for the competition.
