Lee Si-chen, President of Taiwan University Visited SDU

On August 31th, Prof. Lee Si-chen, the President of Taiwan University, visited SDU. At the meeting, President Xu Xianming extended his warm welcome to President Lee and recalled his pleasant previous meetings with him. Both presidents discussed how to further foster the academic exchange and cooperation between the two universities.

Both wished to work out an institutional mechanism to further the cooperation in humanities and social science and additionally, to identify priorities of mutual interests and research strengths for cooperation such in production and processing of carborundum materials, I-Ching theory and applications in science and technology.

During the visit, Lee visited the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology, State Key Laboratory of Crystal Materials. Prof. Liu Dajun, Director of the Centre for Zhouyi & Ancient Chinese Philosophy, SDU, and the heads of the Department of Academic Research, Department of Cooperation and Development, Office for Hong Kong Macao & Taiwan Affairs, and Crystal Material State Key Laboratory attended the meeting.
