Three USTC Teachers Win National Recognition

On the eve of the 60^th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25^th Teacher's Day, three USTC teachers won national recognition: Professor Yu Hanqing was awarded the honorary title of "National Model Teacher", Professor Song Guangtian and Professor Shen Lianguan each received the title of "National Excellent Teacher".

Professor Yu Hanqing from the School of Chemistry and Materials Science is a Distinguished Professor under the Chang Jiang Scholar Program, recipient of a grant from the Outstanding Youths Program of the Chinese National Natural Science Foundation, and member of the One Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Professor Song Guangtian from the Department of Mathematics is a Ph.D supervisor and a scholar of algebraic K-theory and semigroup algebra. He has taught fundamental algebra courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students for many years, and in particular, taught an undergraduate linear algebra course for a total of 32 semesters.

Professor Shen Lianguan is a Ph.D. supervisor from the School of Engineering. He has long been engaged in research on advanced manufacturing technology and information. In addition, he has performed undergraduate and postgraduate teaching tasks over the years and his teaching has been assessed by colleagues and students to be of excellent quality year after year.
