Chinese-German Higher Education Cooperation Seminar Held in Hangzhou

From Mar. 17 to 18, hosted by Zhejiang University, Chinese-German Higher Education Cooperation Seminar sponsored by Deutscher Akademisher Austausch Dienst (DAAD) was held in Hangzhou. More than 60 representatives from China and Germany attended the conference and discussed new educational exchange opportunities and modes in the context of globalization. President Yang Wei attended the seminar and delivered a speech in the opening ceremony. Vice President Wu Ping welcomed the representatives and extended sincere appreciation to Ministry of Education and DAAD for their long-term support on behalf of Zhejiang University, hoping that this seminar will stimulate cooperation between Chinese and German universities.

Representatives from both Chinese and German universities conducted full discussion on the needs, objectives and modes joint education programs. Deputy Secretary-General Prof. Fan Jieping accented innovation in cooperation. He briefed the successful cases of joint education programs between Zhejiang University and MIT, and between Zhejiang University and Singapore University of Technology and Design. Prof. Fan also introduced the Master s program of Chinese Studies at Zhejiang University, expecting more innovative cooperation with German universities on this program.
