On May 9, at the invitation of CUMT s President Ge Shirong, Prof. Bernard Landry delivered a lecture titled Human Globalization and Development at CUMT s Nanhu campus. President Ge presided at the lecture.
In his lecture, Prof. Landry pointed out that globalization plays an active and effective role in human development and the core of globalization is free circulation at all levels, which includes five factors science and technology, product, capital, service and human resource. He also said: The development of science and technology will enhance the mutual understanding between countries. Local protection and closed-door policy will greatly harm the country s economy. All the countries should involve in the international trade for win-win development. Prof. Landry also answers the questions from CUMT s students.
After the lecture, vice president Song Xuefeng talked with Prof. Landry and exchanged ideas on the differences between Chinese and Canadian education modes. Prof. Landry expressed that he would actively promote the Sino-Canada joint undergraduate program between CUMT and the University of Quebec (Montr al).
