Recently, students of Physical Chemistry feel greatly honored to find that the professor of this fascinating course Peng Xiaogang was recognized as one of the world s top 100 chemists 2000-2010, ranking 8th. President Yang Wei sent a letter of congratulation to Prof. Peng for his remarkable achievement.
On February 10, Thomson Reuters released the list of the world s top 100 chemists ranked by citation impact scores of their publications in the past 10 years. UNESCO and IPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) jointly declared 2011 to be the International Year of Chemistry. In support of this, Thomson Reuters published the top 100 table to celebrate the achievements of these chemists in the past decade. Prof. Chen Banglin, ranking 15th on the list, is also a Zhejiang University alumnus.
