Delegation of Air Liquide S. A Visits Zhejiang University

On March 22, President Olivier Delabroy and Vice President Philippe Queille of Air Liquide S. A paid a visit to Zhejiang University. President Yang Wei met with the guests.

Both sides reviewed the cooperation in scientific research in the field of energy and environment in the hope of expanding the academic exchanges. President Yang stated that energy and environmental issues are gaining widespread concern in China, and that Chinese government attaches great importance to the issues by proposing carbon emission reduction targets and energy saving strategies in the 12th Five-Year Plan. This offers great opportunities for research on development of clean energy and environmental protection. As a comprehensive university, Zhejiang University has established itself in research areas covering chemical engineering, environmental protection, pollution control and so on. President Delabroy expressed strong interest in promoting cooperative relations with Zhejiang University in aforementioned areas and setting up research centers in China.

In 2009, Air Liquide S. A and Zhejiang University State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization set up a joint oxyfuel combustion laboratory to develop new eco-friendly technologies.
